Our

Story

Bradley and Amber Luffman married in May of 2018. Soon after their marriage began, Bradley returned to a 20-year-battle with substance abuse. Amber had no prior experience with addiction and their marriage took a turn for the worse as domestic violence, drug addiction, and toxic cycles broke out through Bradley's addiction. Amber and her then two-year-old daughter, Ava, were thrust into a dark world no one should be exposed to, for the next three years, as they witnessed addiction kill the man they loved over and over. Bradley and Amber worked together after seven months of his incarceration in 2020 to transfer Bradley from jail to Bethel Colony of Mercy, a faith-based residential treatment program, on May 14th, 2020. He spent the majority of his last year of life living in different residential treatment programs in North Carolina fighting to obtain recovery and embrace a healthy future with the two girls he loved so much.

Our Story

Bradley entered residential treatment eight different times during their three-year-marriage, unintentionally leaving Amber to pick up the broken pieces of their household and their daughter's confused heart, every time. Tragically, Bradley died from his 13th overdose on May 1st, 2021 and this plunged Amber and Ava into the darkest year, yet. Grief survival became the goal as she and Ava navigated the loss of the man they loved so much, though he battled a sickness bigger than his ability to conquer. Amber works hard every day to practice gratitude and giving others undeserved consideration and service, something Bradley led by example in doing during his sober time in their life-changing marriage. Amber and Ava honor the memory of who he was as a beloved person, and educate others that the person is separate from the disease.

In the midst of Bradley's passing, God provided Amber with a clear vision for Established Family Recovery Ministries, a faith-based, non-profit founded to directly evangelize, support, and mentor family members of those battling addiction. Established is partnering with God daily to help heal a generation from the effects of addiction, through this ministry. Services range from mentorship to financial assistance, and focus on those walking beside an addicted loved one, as well as those grieving the tragic loss of one.

Please consider giving to this essential ministry through your prayers and finances. God bless you!
